Wonky Pool Table | Campaign Film | UK Youth
A short video that explores how the cost of living is affecting youth workers and youth services.
Sharing a powerful message
Chocolate Films was commissioned by UK Youth to create a powerful fundraising film that looks at the value of youth work. The video promotes the need for youth work and its benefits, as well as demonstrates how funding is needed due to current demands.
More than just pool
The hero video features actor Ben Bailey Smith who previously worked as a youth worker. Chocolate Films wrote the script based on the client’s brief and was written with Ben in mind, who also gave his feedback on the script.
When the script was finalised, our team went to shoot the film at Anxar Youth in Wembley. The video is centered around Ben playing pool, but as Ben states in the video, the youth work is much more than just playing pool.
We cut to footage from a variety of youth work provisions, from hot meals to mental health support. We shot this at BigKid Foundation in Brixton and intercut footage supplied by the client.
We made impactful content not only on UK Youth’s website but also on their social media platforms such as Youtube, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Tiktok. We’re now working on producing more video content to show the impact of UK Youth’s campaign.
Creating opportunities for children and young people
At Chocolate Films, we also want to offer creative opportunities for children and young people. We provide filmmaking workshops that enable participants to take their creativity, imagination, and skills to the next level. We provide enjoyable learning experiences for a diverse range of young people, with a strong focus on empowering them in a supportive working environment. These workshops can take place either at your location or in our Nine Elms Studio.
